Small icons on Mac

A quick hack for organizing your digital life.

Everything I download, transfer, or am currently using lives on my desktop. (I cleaned it a bit before this screen shot.) But like my real desk, my desktop quickly clutters up.

Here’s how to get a “list” of icons on your desktop while still seeing the file names.

1) Right click anywhere on your desktop and go to Show View Options

2) Set the Icon size as small as you want it, but keep the grid spacing large. Label position: Right.
